Hazzoura is a smart board for teachers. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect when you use it, why, and what you can do about it.

1.Who we are

Hazzoura (حزورة) is a smart board for teachers, made in Egypt. On this page, “we” means the Hazzoura team. We decide how your data is used and are responsible for it.

This policy covers hazzoura.com and the Hazzoura app. We handle personal data in line with Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020).

2.What we collect

We only collect what we need to run the board:

  • Your account: your name, email, the language you use, and your password, which we store only as a scrambled hash we can't read. If you sign in with Google, we get your name, email and profile picture from Google.
  • Your boards: the pages, writing, drawings, text and settings you create, and the files you add (images, audio and PDF pages). Videos and websites you embed stay on their own sites; we store the link.
  • Messages to us: when you use the contact form, your name, email, topic and message, plus technical details about your device, browser, the page you were on and how you reached the site, so we can understand a problem. The form shows these details before you send.
  • How the site is used: an anonymous ID stored on your device, your visits, the pages you view and for how long, actions such as creating a board or adding a widget, your device type, browser, screen size, languages, time zone, connection type, the site or campaign that brought you, and your country. After you sign in, this is linked to your account.
  • Security data: your IP address is used briefly to limit repeated requests and protect sign-in. We don't keep it in our statistics; the country comes from our network provider.

3.What we store on your device

Hazzoura keeps a few things in your browser so it works smoothly:

  • Sign-in cookies that keep you logged in. They're essential; Hazzoura can't work without them.
  • Your theme and layout preferences, such as dark mode and folded panels.
  • A backup copy of the board you're editing, so a weak connection doesn't lose your work.
  • The anonymous visitor and visit IDs used for the usage statistics above.

We don't use advertising cookies. Some pages may load Google Tag Manager to measure our own campaigns; when they do, Google may set its own cookies.

4.How we use it

  • To run Hazzoura: create your account, keep you signed in, save and open your boards, and show your files.
  • To email you: verification links and replies to your messages. We don't send marketing email without asking.
  • To help you: answer support messages and fix problems.
  • To improve Hazzoura: understand which features teachers use, on which devices, and where they get stuck, mostly as totals.
  • To keep it safe: prevent abuse, spam and attacks.

We don't sell your data, and we don't use it to build advertising profiles.

5.Who helps us run it

A few companies process data for us, only to provide their service:

  • Vercel: hosts the website.
  • Cloudflare: stores your uploaded files.
  • Sentry: receives reports when something breaks on the website or our server (the error, the page and the browser), checks that the server is up, and keeps short technical logs, so we can fix problems. They don't include your files, board content or password.
  • Render: hosts our server.
  • Our database provider: stores accounts, boards and statistics.
  • Resend: sends our emails.
  • Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.

Videos and websites you embed on a board load from their own sites (for example YouTube), which apply their own privacy policies. We may also share data when the law requires it.

6.Where your data is processed

These providers may process data outside Egypt. We choose providers that protect data with encryption and access controls, and we share with each only what it needs.

7.How long we keep it

  • Your account and boards: as long as your account is active.
  • Boards in the trash: deleted for good after 30 days.
  • Uploaded files that never get saved on a board: deleted after 24 hours.
  • Detailed usage events: deleted after about 13 months. Visit summaries may be kept longer to follow trends.
  • Contact messages: as long as we need them to help you and keep a record of the conversation.

When you ask us to delete your account, we delete the account, its boards and files within 30 days, except what the law requires us to keep.

8.Your choices and rights

You can:

  • See and change the name and language on your account at any time.
  • Ask for a copy of your data.
  • Ask us to delete your account and everything in it.
  • Ask us to stop using your data for usage statistics.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what happened before.

Send any of these requests through the contact page or by email to contact@hazzoura.com. We reply within 30 days and may ask you to confirm from the email on your account.

9.Students and children

Accounts are for teachers aged 18 or older. Students don't need an account to see a board in class.

Please put only what the lesson needs on a board, and avoid sensitive details about students. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

10.Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), store passwords hashed, keep sign-in tokens in secure cookies, and limit who on our side can access data. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we'll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

11.Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change matters, we'll tell you by email or with a notice in Hazzoura before it applies.

12.Contact

Questions about your data or this policy? Email us at contact@hazzoura.com, or write to us through the contact page and choose “Something else”.
